The effectiveness of PIES comparing to FEM and BEM for 3D elasticity problems

چکیده

The paper presents the results of research on the effectiveness of the PIES method developed by the authors, applied to modeling and solving complex 3D problems of elasticity. The results were compared with those obtained using classical element methods FEM and BEM. For the calculation in mentioned methods we have used professional programs ANSYS (FEM), BEASY (BEM) and our own software in the case of PIES. Several examples were solved, but we have included only three of them, which seemed to be enough complex. The effectiveness of methods was compared taking into account: the number of input data required to define the geometry, the way of modeling and imposing the boundary conditions, the number of solved algebraic equations and the accuracy and reliability of the results.
